A 2 meter tall red anthro dragon stood in the middle of the room, his blue eyes ran down the screen of a computer console. Blue diamond patters crossed his body, with a dual row of spikes running down his back and ending in a spiky mace at his tail.
The dragon was clearly wingless, with a small metal device attached there in place.
A row of blue spikes ran up the dragon’s muzzle, ending at mess of black hair, several of his teeth protruded from his jaws in an intimidating manner and his ears with finned.

Dozens of nasty scar’s covered his body, reminders from past conflicts and battles.
The dragon swished his tail from side to side before looking at the crowed behind the safety glass in the room, they all looked on with mock horror or disbelief at what he was doing.

Torko’s, the purple dragon with gold eyes a mess of black spikes on his head and a nasty over bite watched on with his medical supplies on standby.
A dark grey dragon stood beside him, he was hornless dragon with brown hair, Edge looked down at a computer screen that showed a thermal image of the dragon in the room.

The red dragon sighed, and looked at the screen.

Map: default training room

Specific opponent: Zorath
Difficulty: Lethal

Rounds: 3
Lightning looked back at the spectators one last time, before his claw pressed down on the ‘start’ button.
Lights in the room dulled as a hard light copy of his opponent began to materialize in the room training room.

The console folded away into the floor and Lightning loosen his muscles in his shoulders a little, he took a few steps towards his familiar opponent.
A black dragon with grey underbelly looked back, streaks of red lightning patterns covered his body and blood red eyes stared at him, three horns decorated his head and a collar of spikes protected his neck.
The dragon snarled and swished its arrow tipped tail, Lightning stepped into a fighting stance and took a deep breath.

“Round 1! FIGHT!” beeped a computerised voice, before Lightning could even move, Zorath made his attack.

A blast of air from behind sent Lightning staggering forwards, before he could rebalance Zorath ran forward with a fist full of fire and punched Lightning square between the eyes.
The blow slapped Lightning’s head straight into the ground, before he could stand Zorath stomped on him repeatedly before a pillar of ice appeared from under Lightning and shot high into the sky.

There was a loud thud as Lightning was slammed into the ceiling, the ice then instantly liquefied and Lightning fell back towards the ground.
Zorath flew up to intercept him and upper cut Lightning square in the gut, a sickening pop split the air and red scale scattered to the ground long before Lightning face crashed into it.

Zorath formed a large spike of ice on the ceiling and used a fire ball to melt its base, the ice fell heading straight towards the motionless Lightning on the ground.
Everyone watched in horror, then in surprise as Lightning suddenly rolled to the side dodging the ice.

Zorath dived down beside the ice spike and looked behind it for Lightning, but the dragon had vanished from sight.
Zorath snarled and continued to look around, suddenly his head jerked back and Lightning appeared from thin air arm drawn back for another brutal punch.

A block of ice shot out of the ground to protect Zorath, however Lightning’s fist smashed straight through the ice like glass and struck Zorath in the head once more.
The dragon stumbled back dazed from the blow, Lightning grabbed what remained of the block of ice and threw it at Zorath, but Zorath held up his hand and a wall of flames melted it into a puddle.

Sparks flew from the spikes on Lightning’s back and he slapped his paw to the ground, into the puddle that Zorath was standing in.
A majority of the crowd could see what was going to happen, Lightning had his name for a reason.
Electricity raced across the puddle and electrified Zorath, the dragon went into a series of muscle spasm as he staggered and twitched out of the puddle, he had a minor immunity to the electricity as it was one of his elements, however Lightning was packing far more electrical power than Zorath could handle.

Lightning ran up and nearly tackled Zorath, he grabbed the dragon around the middle and rolled backwards, slamming Zorath head into the ground then rolling on top of him pinning the dragon to the ground.
Lightning went to punch him but a pillar of ice shot out of the ground beside him and slammed into his side, knocking Lightning off Zorath.

Zorath jumped to his feet and Lightning suddenly disappeared again, Zorath sent a ball of flames where he last saw the dragon and it only struck the ground.
Lightning appeared behind Zorath and his foot came up to slap the back of Zorath’s skull, the dragon stumbled and turned around only to get a brutal punch to the face that sent scales flying.

Sparks flew from Lightning’s back once more and the diamond patterns on his arm glowed brightly, Zorath saw the blow coming and made a pillar of ice shoot up to intercept the fist.
Just like before, the ice shattered easily against the brute power of Lightning’s punch, and the fist crashed into Zorath’s face with enough force to knock several teeth from the dragons jaw.

Zorath was knocked flat off his feet and Lightning shoot his fist as the sparks stopped and the glowing disappeared, meanwhile Edge watched the screens closely, especially the large spike in power output Lightning just received. He also noted the concentration of heat in Lightning’s chest and back, Torkos glanced at it then back to the fight at hand.

Lightning was breathing hard, the scales on his face were slightly scorched from Zorath’s round starting punch, and several of his scales were cracked or shattered from the powerful magical attacks launched against his body.
Zorath was in a similar state, despite Lightning’s stature he possess tremendous strength, fake blood gushed from Zoraths jaw and the impact points of Lightning’s blows could be seen by the slight enclave on his body.

Just then a bell sounded, Zorath disappeared and Lightning was given a moment to breath and prepare for the next round.
All the water, ice and damage was suddenly removed from the room, and a new Zorath appeared in the room, totally undamaged and ready for round two.

Lightning got into a fighting stance, he was ready for the next fight.

“Round 2! FIGHT!” beeped the voice again, sparks flew from Lightning’s back and he sprinted towards Zorath.

The dragon made several small daggers of ice form in the air, and launched them with a powerful cyclone of wind towards Lightning.
Lightning’s eyes changed from blue, to a poisonous glowing green and he held both arms in an ‘x’ formation to take the bulk of the attack.
The ice daggers stabbed into metallic scales with several loud thuds, but Lightning was unfazed by the shallow wounds on his arm, he continued to run forwards.

Zorath took a step back, and made a large block of ice the size of a car fall from the ceiling on top of lightning.
There was a loud gasp from the ground, and Lightning just disappeared beneath the ice.
Zorath growled with satisfaction and took a few steps forwards, Edge looked down at the screen and notice a large spike of energy from Lightning again.

‘zap crackle zap zap zap BOOOMM!’ were the only sounds that could be heard before a blast of electricity exploded from the block of ice and almost taking Zoraths head off in the process.
Lightning head steamed and hissed as it slowly stuck out from the gaping hole in the ice, his eyes glowing evilly as he stared at Zorath.

Lightning stepped out through the steam sparks flying from his back angrily, Zorath took a step back and Lightning took a step forward.
Zorath turned and ran, Lightning gave chase but wasn’t as fast as Zorath.
The dragon pounced at the wall, kicked off it and back flipped behind Lightning, he ran into the wall and bounced back confused. Zorath landed and kicked Lightning in the back sending him into the wall again, he allowed for Lightning to stumble back before making a fire ball in his hand and punching Lightning in the chest with it.
Zorath held his hand there allowing the fire to begin melting Lightning’s tough metallic scale, Lightning saw what the dragons intentions were and slapped the dragons arm away behind driving his elbow into Zoraths chest in one fluid motion.

Zorath staggered back several space, fire still in hand, Lightning looked at the glowing scales on his chest and knew it had just become a weak spot for his opponent to target.
Zorath flicked his wrist and the fire ball turned into a long tendril of flames, he lashed out with the fire like a whip at Lightning’s neck.

Lightning saw it coming and grabbed it with his left hand, Zorath blinked surprised and Lightning pulled on the whip hard. The force made Zorath stagger forwards into range of Lightning’s attacks and Lightning delivered a powerful kick to Zorath’s gut.
The fire whip dissipated and Zorath gasped for air as the air was forced from his lungs.

Lightning didn’t hesitate or give his opponent time to respond, Lightning jumped slightly in the air, and his foot slammed into the side of Zorath’s skull with a mighty crack. One of Zorath’s horns shattered and he staggered sidewards dazed and gasping, Lightning landed the kick and his tail whipped out to follow up from the attack.
Several tail spikes clawed into Zorath’s fake flesh as the tail slapped across his muzzle, scale’s scattered across the ground mixed with fake blood.

Zorath roared and clutched his face, covering several deep gashes, Lightning foot kicked the broken horn into the air.
Lightning grab it and stabbed it straight into Zoraths left shoulder, digging the horn deep into fake flesh.
Zorath grabbed Lightning’s arm and roared again, ice began to cover Lightning’s scales where Zorath held him.

A slight green flash crossed Lightning’s eyes, before he swung his muzzle like a bat at Zoraths head. Heavy metal bone and scale crashed into fake dragon bone, breaking Zoraths jaw and cracking more scales from his face.
Lightning was deliberately targeting all his attacks into the right side of Zoraths face, to weaken the dragon and stun him from retaliation.

The dragon went limp for a moment, letting go of Lightning’s arms and falling onto the ground.
Lightning looked away back to the spectators for a brief moment, he was panting and several sparks jumped from his back.
The scales on his chest were still glowing hot from Zoraths fire attack, and still a very vulnerable target.

As Lightning turned back to face his opponent, a spike of ice shot out of the ground and stabbed straight into the glowing scales.
Blood flew from Lightning’s jaws as the ice stabbed through his chest, and exited just below his left shoulder blade. If he’d been a normal dragon, the blade would have pierced is heart, but he wasn’t a normal dragon or drake.

To be continued….
This is part of the finished product for another  battle between :iconredlightningnod608: and :icondrakeagle: ,  It was inspired by :icontorkos-arcflame: who wrote.

'Torkos stopped himself. It didn’t matter how Lightning did it. He knew the Demon had magical potential equal to that of their Supreme Chancellor, Zorath Flamecloak, though it wasn’t so obvious.' in the story Memories fav.me/d95geml Now I do not claim to be a 'match' for Zorath, but I do know I got the physical power to do some serious damage and take some from him.

And a story  fav.me/d6zukb4 written by an old friend who I miss greatly.. :iconrekalnus: who inspired the virtual battle thing I writing in the story.

Well any issue with the story then 'Please' let me know -.=.-;

I'll let you guess what happens in the end.
